Opposite Day: Rest Day
Today is reverse day. You are constantly going or need a push. If you are reading this it is very possible this message is for you. Some of us need permission or a reminder to take a break occasionally. Others of us need that boost or push to get out of our comfort zone (if you are in that comfort zone your reverse day is next! Stay tuned!)
Today is for the for those movers and shakers, this is your permission to take a break or a rest day. Self care comes in all forms. Movement is excellent for the mind, body and soul and so is relaxation. Remember, everything in moderation. So put on your comfy pants or shorts, throw on old reliable (you know that T-shirt you won’t get rid of because “it’s so comfy!”) pull out that puzzle you have been meaning to do, dust off your easel and paint set, sit down for that meditation that ever elusive meditation, go lay in the grass (recommend bug spray for a more enjoyable experience), sit on the floor with your children and just play and laugh, call an old friend (don’t just text), write a letter or email to an unsuspecting acquaintance just to say hello. You get the jist. Do something for yourself that you continuously put off because you never sit still. Just for today. Tomorrow you can resume your daily activity. Before you go to bed this evening, think about how you felt throughout the day. Were you inspired to change anything in your daily routine? It’s ok if you weren’t. Change takes time and repetition. Try it again next week.
